Frequently Asked Questions
Which browsers support the Adobe Client Data Layer Debugger?
The installation gallery includes popular Chromium-based browsers, Firefox, and Safari. Choose your browser to see its install option and any browser-specific setup notes.
Why does Safari require Xcode?
Safari extensions require an Xcode-based setup unless you are willing to pay a $99 developer license per year to build and sign. Before I commit to that as this is an open source project, I want to ensure that there is enough desire to warrant this from the community.
How do I get started after installing the debugger?
Open a page that uses the Adobe Client Data Layer and open the debugger by clicking the icon to inspect data layer events as you interact with the page.
What if I don’t see any data layer activity?
Confirm that the page implements the Adobe Client Data Layer (adobeDataLayer), then reload it with the debugger open. If events still do not appear, check that the extension is enabled and has access to the page.
